Art can exist in many forms, some exist temporarily, some more permanent (or archival). Many artist strive to make their art transcend time, like Da Vinci's Mona Lisa that has lasted since 1505! Some encaustics have lasted far longer than that. My art begins with a solid cradle built from strong wood, allowing for the rigid support that encaustic needs for stability. This cradle is covered in archival quality canvas or paper adhered using archival adhesive and covered in beeswax and dammar resin, creating a piece that can be passed down through the generations. Each piece is then finished off with solid flush-mounting hardware and some soft corner pads to create a clean artistic piece that will present beautifully on any wall.
